Help us Clear the Snake River

The Snake River is getting overgrown, making it difficult and unsafe to pass. Come help us clear some of the brush and make it a fun day! Some tools will be provided but if you've got a chain saw, pole pruner, loppers, pruners or a hand saw we could certainly use some more equipment. We'll work in teams to keep one another safe. This river is BEAUTIFUL - it reminds me of being in Oz. It's small and windy at the beginning. We will start at Rt 105 in Rochester. Use 200 Rounseville Rd Rochester in your GPS. We’ll paddle for a while, take a break for lunch, and finish up at Wolf Island Road in Rochester. I do not recommend this trip for beginners. It is best suited for boats 14' or under. This is a windy river with many tight turns and is challenging for beginners. The trip is suitable for boats 12 feet and under.  Bring a lunch. There is a bridge where we may have to portage so we'll stop there to eat. Directions: Take exit 9 on 495, Bay Street. Head north towards Winnecunnet Pond. Paddle the Lower Nemasket River

This is a 6.5 mile trip from Oliver Mill on Route 44 to Titicut Street in Middleboro. Water levels are still high so it could be easy. This river has easy curves but there are several trees we will have to maneuver around. Good upper body strength will be needed to go the 6.5 mile length. Bring a lunch. Taunton River Wild & Scenic River Run

Overnight Canoe/Kayak Trip First day, the trip begins at Oliver Mill Park, Nemasket Street near Route 44 in Middleborough. Check-in time is 9 a.m. on Saturday at Oliver Mill. Drop off your canoe/kayak at Oliver Mill and your drive car to Titicut Reservation on Beech St. You'll be given a ride back to Oliver Mill for the start of the trip. Day one ends at Titicut Reservation (overnight stay optional). Second day, (Sunday) check-in time is 9 a.m. at Titicut Reservation. The Taunton River is an easy river, great for anyone wanting to try kayaking or who hasn't been in a while. This will be a 8 mile trip so beginners will need good upper body strength and balance. Sunday Morning Paddle on the Taunton

Sunday, October 9, 2022 8:30am -11:30am Join Nemasket Kayak Center guides on a tour of the beautiful Taunton River. We'll launch from the boat ramp area located at West Water Street, Taunton and paddle downriver to Dighton Rock State Park. Open to all ages. Children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
