Splash into Science: What is a Watershed?
Come explore the vital role that the watershed plays in our community through hands-on activities, games, and sensory-based exploration. This one-hour program invites youth ages 5–12 and their families to discover what a watershed is, meet the plants and animals that live in the Taunton River Watershed, and explore the many ways humans interact with and impact these ecosystems. Along the way, we will play interactive games, examine real biofacts, and try cool science activities, like making a “water strider” walk on water. Together, we’ll learn simple ways we can all enjoy and protect our local waterways. Come ready to explore and get curious about the world around us!
