Taunton River Festival

Weir Riverfront Park Taunton

This is a day-long celebration of community spirit featuring live music, a craft fair, children's activities, and educational exhibits. It is a family friendly event, attended by thousands of area residents. Admission is FREE and is open to all. If you are a school, service club, community group, church, environmental organization or a local business that would like to sponsor, host a booth, or run an event in the day's schedule, please email director@savethetaunton.org or call 508-828-1101. Paddle the Lower Nemasket River

Oliver Mill Park, Middleboro 8 Nemasket St, Middleboro

This is a 6.5 mile trip from Oliver Mill on Route 44 to Titicut Street in Middleboro. Water levels are still high so it could be easy. This river has easy curves but there are several trees we will have to maneuver around. Good upper body strength will be needed to go the 6.5 mile length. Bring a lunch. We'll stop half way and take a break. This is an absolutely beautiful river! Lots of wildlife - blue herons, turtles, so much more. Maybe we'll see some flowers/blooms along the way too. Paddle the Snake River

Snake River 7 Bay Road, Norton

This is a windy river with many tight turns and is challenging for beginners. The trip is suitable for boats 12 feet and under.  Bring a lunch. There is a bridge where we may have to portage so we'll stop there to eat. Directions: Take exit 9 on 495, Bay Street. Head north towards Winnecunnet Pond. You will pass King Philip Road on your left and in 50 yards you will pass over the river. The parking lot is immediately on your right, just after the bridge.
