DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, October 9\, 2022 \n8:30am -11:30am \nJoin Nemasket Kayak Center guides on a tour of the beautiful Taunton River. We’ll launch from the boat ramp area located at West Water Street\, Taunton and paddle downriver to Dighton Rock State Park. \nOpen to all ages. DESCRIPTION:DUE TO THE WEATHER WE ARE RESCHEDULING THIS TRIP TO SUNDAY\, OCTOBER 13\, 2019. Everything else remains the same.  \nThis trip picks up where my Sept 7 trip ends. If you do both trips you will see most of the Wild & Scenic Taunton River! \nCheck in time is 9:30 a.m. The trip will begin at 10 a.m. at the launch site\, South Street East in Raynham diagonally across from the Riverbend Condominiums. The trip will end approximately four hours later (2 p.m.) at the Weir Riverfront Park on East Water Street in Taunton. Shuttle service will be provided by the members of TRWA. \nThe registration cost is $15 per person; $10 per person for TRWA members and their families. \nParticipants should supply their own canoe or kayak and an extra paddle and wear a flotation device. Youths under 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. If you would like to do this trip but don’t have a kayak I have 4 available for rent. $45 includes kayak\, vest\, paddle and transportation. No need to worry how you’re going to get it there. DESCRIPTION:Due to high winds from Hurricane Dorian on Saturday we have rescheduled this trip to September 14. \nThe Taunton River is an easy river\, great for anyone wanting to try kayaking or who hasn’t been in a while. \nThis will be a 8 mile trip so beginners will need good upper body strength and balance. SUMMARY:Taunton River Wild & Scenic River Run
DESCRIPTION:Overnight Canoe/Kayak Trip\nFirst day\, the trip begins at Oliver Mill Park\, Nemasket Street near Route 44 in Middleborough. Check-in time is 9 a.m. on Saturday at Oliver Mill. Drop off your canoe/kayak at Oliver Mill and your drive car to Titicut Reservation on Beech St. You’ll be given a ride back to Oliver Mill for the start of the trip. \nDay one ends at Titicut Reservation (overnight stay optional). Second day\, (Sunday) check-in time is 9 a.m. at Titicut Reservation. Again\, you’ll leave your canoe/kayak and drive your car to Weir Waterfront Park. You’ll be given a ride back to Titicut for the start. The trip ends at approximately 3 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Weir Riverfront Park in Taunton. \nThe trip covers a portion of the Nemasket River\, then a large portion of the Taunton River designated Wild and Scenic by the National Park Service and the U.S. Congress. \nOvernight camping will be at the Camp Titicut Reservation on Beech Street in Bridgewater\, a town conservation area managed by the Bridgewater Conservation Commission\, and also a historical Native American campsite. \nThe cost of the two-day trip is $35 per boat or $25 per boat for TRWA members. Single day trips (Saturday or Sunday) are available at $15 per boat. SUMMARY:Paddle the Lower Nemasket River
DESCRIPTION:This is a 6.5 mile trip from Oliver Mill on Route 44 to Titicut Street in Middleboro. Water levels are still high so it could be easy. This river has easy curves but there are several trees we will have to maneuver around. Good upper body strength will be needed to go the 6.5 mile length. \nBring a lunch. We’ll stop half way and take a break. This is an absolutely beautiful river! Lots of wildlife – blue herons\, turtles\, so much more. DESCRIPTION:This is a windy river with many tight turns and is challenging for beginners. The trip is suitable for boats 12 feet and under.  \nBring a lunch. There is a bridge where we may have to portage so we’ll stop there to eat. \nDirections: Take exit 9 on 495\, Bay Street. Head north towards Winnecunnet Pond. You will pass King Philip Road on your left and in 50 yards you will pass over the river. DESCRIPTION:The Snake River is getting overgrown\, making it difficult and unsafe to pass. Come help us clear some of the brush and make it a fun day! \nSome tools will be provided but if you’ve got a chain saw\, pole pruner\, loppers\, pruners or a hand saw we could certainly use some more equipment. We’ll work in teams to keep one another safe. \nBring a lunch.
