Guided Walk- Tuckerwood Conservation Area

Tuckerwood Conservation Area  Date: Friday, September 23, 2022  Time: 10:00am -11:30am  Cost: Member: Free, Non-member: $5  Meeting Place: Parking lot across from 1072 High Street, Bridgewater, MA.  Tuckerwood Conservation Area is a 32 acre parcel with views of the Town River. We will explore trails and pine woods with a vernal pool for viewing, making a wonderful easy walk led by TRWA volunteers. Not stroller friendly. Restrooms not available. Pups on leash welcome. Guided Walk- Ames Nowell State Park

Ames Nowell State Park   Date: Saturday, October 15, 2022  Time: 9:00am-10:30am  Cost: Member: Free, Non-member: $5  Meeting Place: Parking lot at Linwood Street, Abington, MA.  Exploring the northern part of the Taunton River Watershed, TRWA volunteers will lead a walk near the Cleveland Reservoir to observe turtles, birds and wetland plants. We will scoop some water from the reservoir edge to see who lives in it. Medium hike. Wear sturdy footwear. Not stroller friendly. Restrooms available. Pups on leash welcome. Freshwater Mussel Fauna of Massachusetts - America's Most Endangered Group of Organisms with Jay Cordeiro Location- Somerset Public Library,  1464 County Street Join Jay Cordeiro, a wildlife biologist with the Massachusetts Audubon Society and Adjunct Faculty in Biological Sciences at Bridgewater State University, for an eye opening discussion about mussels. Guided Walk- F. Gilbert Hills State Forest

F. Gilbert Hills State Forest   Learn about the Civilian Conservation Corps work at many of our state forests in the 1930s. TRWA member and volunteer Ellenor Simmons will lead a 1-hour walk through pine forests and fire roads, visiting waterholes, meadows and geological structures. Medium hike. Sturdy shoes recommended. Off pavement stroller friendly. Dogs on leash welcome. Restrooms available. Ellenor brings 32 years of state parks experience to TRWA as a former Southcoast Field Operations Team Leader and park supervisor with the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation.
