Guided Walk- Bicentennial Park
October 17, 2024 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm
Veterans Memorial Bicentennial Park was dedicated in 1976 to commemorate the bicentennial of the United States. It holds historical significance for the Fall River community. The park is a tribute to the men and women from Fall River who served in the armed forces from the Revolutionary War to the present day.
Enjoy a stroll along the riverfront boardwalk to discuss Fall River’s cultural and natural history with a focus on the Taunton River’s fresh and salt water mix. We will walk past the Memorials towards the Heritage Park. The trail is flat, making it perfect for strollers, wheelchairs and people of all activity levels.
Our guide, Ellenor Simmons, brings 32 years of state parks experience to TRWA as a former Southcoast Field Operations Team Leader and park supervisor with the MA Department of Conservation and Recreation. In her retirement, she enjoys leading walks and volunteering with our Diamondback Terrapin Population Research Project
